Our Groups

Lunch Club

We are the “Ladies who Lunch!” – we have monthly outings to local restaurants, pubs and cafes for tasty and often good value lunches and afternoon teas. As always there’s lots of fun and chat at these events whilst supporting local businesses and our local college.

Gardening Club

The Gardening group initially got together in 2019 over cups of Tea at a local garden centre. We all share a love of nice gardens but not necessarily actual gardening. A renaming of the group in 2023 to the “Teacup Garden group” better reflects the nature of the group. Last year we had several afternoon teas in members gardens and this year we have a trip planned to Trentham gardens in Cheshire.

Craft Club

Our evening craft group is held monthly and is attended by a dedicated band of experienced crafters and newcomers who want to learn. Each month we tackle an arts and craft project to stretch our craft skills whilst having fun. We are a friendly and relaxed group who enjoy socialising whilst being creative. We are always open to new ideas for craft projects from our members.

Book Club

The book club meets one evening each month at a local community venue. We read a new book each month from a range of different genres including crime, romance, adventure, and thrillers. The books we read are supplied by Stalybridge Library and we can plan what books we have for the year. After reading the book we meet to discuss its characters, plot and ultimately whether we have enjoyed it. We’ve certainly had some page turners! Linking with the local library keeps costs down and gives people an opportunity to read something that they may not normally have chosen themselves. The group is very informal and we have some lively discussions and laughs!

Supper Club

Join us to “meet & eat” in a friendly atmosphere, enjoying great conversation, good company and fabulous food! We meet monthly on a Wednesday evening and have to date visited a variety of local restaurants that offer a range of different cuisines including Italian, Chinese and Indian as well as the traditional English fayre.
