September 2024

Fun was had at a tasteful Burlesque evening at the Stockport Plaza Theatre.

WI members attended an open day at  the BAPS Shri Swaminaryan  Mandir, Hindu Temple in Ashton-under-Lyne.

Stalybridge WI sponsored a spectacular flower arrangement at their venue for meetings,  Stalybridge Methodist Church. The  church was hosting a flower festival  "The Gift of Water".

August 2024

An enjoyable trip took place to the Lowry Theatre, Salford to see the Nationally acclaimed musical Six - a  story of the wives of Henry VIII

July 2024

At the conclusion of the Great Big Green Week, Stalybridge WI supported pupils from Gorse Hall School to display work on pollution in our canals and its link with the ecosystem in the local library.

Several WI members submitted art work to a local Open Art Event at  The Astley Cheetham's gallery.

Members visited Elizabeth Gaskells House in Manchester. A wonderful insight into the life of this famous author.

Fun was had by all at a afternoon tea at the races event with profits of over  £700 going to our annual charity.

June 2024

Members promoted cleaner rivers as part of the WI Great Big Green week with posters adorned around Armentieres square.

A team from Stalybridge WI joined other members from Cheshire Federation in a Monopoly treasure hunt event in Stockport.

Several members tried to make a difference to the town centre by spending a Saturday morning litter picking.

May 2024

A visit to Manchester cathedral to listen to three fantastic young musicians from Chetham's School of Music.

An enjoyable coach trip to Trentham Gardens.

West Side Story in Mossley was enjoyed by several members.

April 2024

A fun Grand National Draw at our April raised  money for our annual charity.

Members had an interesting visit to the people's museum in Manchester.

March 2024

It has been a  busy couple of weeks for Stalybridge WI .

Five members visited an exhibition of Palestinian embroidery at Whitworth Art Gallery followed  lunch at Manchester Art Gallery.

Twelve members enjoyed a fantastic production by Hyde Musical Society of Jekyll and Hyde The Musical.

Over £400 was raised at a coffee morning and bring and buy for the charity Forget me not Buddies.

February 2024 - Recycling plastic chocolate tubs

Our members  were very efficient in collecting over 70 empty Roses, Quality Street and Heroes chocolate tubs in aid of funds for MacMillan Cancer Research.
