Our Green Credentials

We at Woodford W.I. support the initiatives of the climate related initiatives and campaigns of the National Federation of W.I.s and The Cheshire Federation of W.I.s. We have a nominated climate ambassador who links into the federation's Climate Group.

One of the more recent initiatives is lending our support for the Big Green Week. In the past few years we have introduced members and members of the communiity to simple ways to avoid using plastic by giving samples laundry sheets and reuseable tea bags. We've dipped and analysed samples from the rivers and brooks locally.This year we challenged our members to buy an outfit, that they would happily wear again, from a charity shop. We held a coffee and cakes afternoon and the most stylish outfit won a prize. We definitely have converts to the benefits of recycling.
